Is india ready for Coronaviruses (CoV)? How did the coronavirus start??What is the coronavirus? How many cases of coronavirus in the USA?

According to WHO Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). A novel coronavirus (nCoV) is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans.
Coronaviruses are zoonotic, meaning they are transmitted between animals and people. Detailed investigations found that SARS-CoV was transmitted from civet cats to humans and MERS-CoV from dromedary camels to humans. Several known coronaviruses are circulating in animals that have not yet infected humans.

What are the signs of coronaviruses?
Common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. In more severe cases, the infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure, and even death.

what is the way to prevent it?
Standard recommendations to prevent infection spread include regular hand washing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, thoroughly cooking meat and eggs. Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing.

how is India effecting it?
"The (3rd Indian) patient has tested positive for novel coronavirus and is in isolation in the hospital," the union health ministry said in a statement. The patient is admitted to the Alappuzha Medical College hospital, where three other persons are under observation and kept in an isolation ward, as per Kerala's health minister KK Shailaja. "At present, 120 people are under home quarantine in Alappuzha. The public functions should not be held at the houses of any of these people," she said at the media briefing.

In Bengaluru, a family of five was also tested for the coronavirus after the neighbors alerted officials that the family had visited China recently. 4,367 travelers have been screened at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport.

India imports the bulk – nearly 70 percent – of its raw materials and active ingredients for drug production from China, about US$4.5 billion worth each year. These active pharmaceutical ingredients and key starting materials, as they are known in the industry, are used in everything from vitamin tablets to hormone injections, blood pressure medication, and life-saving antibiotics.

"Large companies may have stock for two to three months. But the small-scale firm's inventory can last for only about 30 to 40 days," said Sudharshan Jain, secretary-general of the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance lobbying group, which counts several top drugs manufacturers among its members.

"If there's a week-long delay in the supplies … the production will not be affected. But, if it lasts a longer period – which no one can predict at this point in time – what will happen then? Prices may shoot up sharply in the short run or there may be a shortage [of medicines]."

India's government has yet to make an announcement on the country's preparedness for a possible pharmaceutical shortage, but authorities are rumored to be holding regular meetings with industry leaders to assess the state of the nation's ingredients stockpiles.
A senior official at the health ministry told This Week In Asia, on condition of anonymity, that not only had concerns been raised about a possible impending crisis in India's pharmaceutical sector – industry experts have warned of price rises of up to 20 percent for certain medications – but that the outbreak could mean the loss of the "significant progress" several major Indian drugs manufacturers made last year in trying to enter the Chinese market.
